Marks & Brands

In accordance with Article 144.044 of the Agriculture Code, the marks and brands that have been previously recorded will expire on August 30, 2021.

The owner of the brand will have from August 31, 2021 through February 28, 2022 to renew their mark or brand. When you file a renewal or a new brand, we will check the index to make sure you are the current owner and that the brand is not currently in use.

On March 1, 2022 all marks and brands that have not been renewed will be open for registration to any person desiring to record the brand in their name.

If you have brands registered in other counties in the State of Texas, it will be necessary to contact the office of the County Clerk of that county for re-registration as well.

Fees

The recording fee is $16.00 per mark, brand or tattoo for one location and $5.00 for each additional location at the initial filing. Additional locations registered at a later date will be the same fee as a new registration.

Application

If you wish to mail your application to the Hall County Clerk's Office, you must complete the Brand application with the notary portion. The application must be acknowledged by a notary before it can be filed in the Clerk's office.
